Immigrant Giveaway!

In the spirit of the season, we'll be giving away some (downloadable) items of potential interest from The Immigrant catalog.

This week:
"Take the Comforting Hand of Jesus" - Hymn

This is the hymn version that is heard incomplete at the top of Act II of The Immigrant, sung by Ima to herself as she works in her kitchen. Ima later sings a number derived from this material. We never hear a complete version of the hymn.

Steven called on his many years as a church organist/choir director in the writing of this. It contains the same sort of odd leaps and voice leading rule breaking that he remembers in some of the less perfect but more enthusiastic hymn writing.

It would be very suitable for use by a church choir.

We're giving this away freely for non-commercial use. (For commercial use, please contact The Gersh Agency for licensing information.)

All we ask is that if you do use this material, you to let us know when, where and how you've used it!
